Zabka Polska Sp. z o.o. is the owner of the largest convenience store chain in Poland, consisting of over 5,500 stores run by more than 3,700 franchisees under the Zabka brand. During the twenty years of presence on the Polish market, the Company has become the leader in the convenience sales segment. Its stores are visited daily by 2 million customers and 12 million consumers live no more than 300 m from the nearest Zabka store. Franchise History
In 1998 in Poznan and Swarzedz were opened seven experimental Zabka stores. In the same year, the decision to create a nationwide convenience store chain – Zabka Polska was made. In the first two years, the company opened 400 new stores.
In 2000 the first Logistic Center of Zabka was created. At the end of 2008 the number of Zabka shops exceeded 2000. In 2009, company gained a new market segment and the first convenience store – Freshmarket with the FreshCaf zone was opened. At the end of 2011 the Zabka store chain had 2,500 points of sale and the 100th shop under Freshmarket brand was also opened.
In 2012 Zabka started remodeling of its shops and launched Zabka Caf zone in its stores. In 2017 CVC Capital Partners, a leading global private equity firm, became the owner of Zabka Polska. The same year the company started to undergo the rebranding process. Putting an emphasis on new technology and digital transformation, Zabka Polska presented in 2018 the concept of its Store of the future which has been currently developing. In 2018 Zabka Polska also opened the store number 5000 in Warsaw. Currently, with more than 5500 shops, the company is the biggest convenience store chain in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe.
